Myomectomy is a surgery whose purpose is the expiration of uterine fibroids, also known as leiomyomasand fibroids. This is a surgical technique that does not affect the uterus, so women can have children. This intervention is usually performed under general anesthesia.
There are two types of myomectomy:
- Abdominal Myomectomy

- Laparoscopic Myomectomy
- small incisions are made externally and displayed by a fiber optic camera. This type of myomectomy requires less hospitalization time and recovery is usually about 1-2 weeks.
The method chosen by the specialist to remove a fibroid will depend on the size, location and quantity.
