Pregnancy in a woman with a high BMI is associated with a higher number of obstetric complications, such as gestational diabetes. However, a high BMI in the pregnant woman can also have certain effects on the offspring. Among them, we can mention the following:
- Obesity.
- Diabetes.
- Hypertension.
In addition, the risk of certain congenital anomalies and macrosomia would also be elevated in pregnant women with obesity problems.
