One of the most complex aspects of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is that its causes and effects are not completely clear. It is widely known that insulin resistance is a key factor involved in the development of this disease. However, its role is a confusing one, since we cannot know to what extent it is the cause of PCOS, or a consequence of it.
