Early ovarian insufficiency (EOI) consists of the cessation of ovarian activity at an early age with respect to menopausal age, that is, before the age of 40.
There is no specific cause for IOP, but it can be caused by multiple factors that are difficult to determine. Some of these are chromosomal defects, exposure to toxins, autoimmune diseases such as hypothyroidism, etc. IOP is also influenced by risk factors such as family history or diseases that have required surgery on the ovaries.
