Artificial insemination (AI) is a low complexity assisted reproductive technique. However, like any fertility treatment, some complications may arise, such as, for example:
- Pelvic infection, although this is a rather unusual risk.
- Allergic reaction.
- Immunological reaction due to the presence of anti-sperm antibodies.
In spite of this, the aforementioned risks associated with insemination are infrequent and will only occur on exceptional occasions.
