Success after assisted reproductive treatment is to achieve a healthy newborn. Therefore, the birth rate per transfer is used to check the success of this technique.
The delivery rate after ICSI decreases drastically with age if the woman's own eggs are used, due to the decrease in ovarian reserve and poor oocyte quality.
As can be seen in the graph, women under 35 years of age have the highest percentage of success with 34.6%; while this percentage is reduced to 11.6% in women over 40 years of age. In addition, women between 35 and 39 years of age have a transfer delivery rate of 25.0%.
All these data are compiled in the latest registry published by the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF).
