It is increasingly common to perform in vitro fertilization (IVF) using the ICSI technique, i.e. intracytoplasmic injection of sperm into the egg. This technique is preferred by most embryologists, as it has numerous advantages and high success rates.
However, there are some aspects that can influence the success of ICSI. Some of these are listed below:
- Egg quality.
- Age of the woman.
- Ovarian reserve.
- Sperm quality.
Other factors that can influence the probability of success of ICSI are chromosomal abnormalities in the gametes (eggs and sperm), alterations in the uterus, etc.
