Becoming a father with Sertoli syndrome

Sertoli syndrome has no treatment, so men diagnosed with this syndrome need assisted reproductive techniques. In addition, due to the absence of sperm production, it is often necessary to resort to sperm donation.

However, in certain cases in which a focus of spermatogenesis is maintained, some sperm can be obtained by testicular biopsy for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). In this way, pregnancy can be attempted, after genetic testing and appropriate genetic counseling.
