Orchitis is the inflammation of one or both testicles due to the presence of a viral or bacterial infection. Specifically, the most common causes of testicular inflammation are the mumps virus and sexually transmitted infections such as gonorrhoea and chlamydia.
For this reason, it is important for men to visit their doctor in case of any symptoms in order to know how to proceed. This will reduce the possible consequences for male fertility in the future.
