The first phase of spermatogenesis consists of the multiplication of spermatogonia.
Type A spermatogonia are capable of giving rise to type A and type B spermatogonia.
Type B spermatogonia give rise to primary spermatocytes which, once spermatogenesis is complete, give rise to spermatozoa.
