Artificial insemination has a low success rate compared to in vitro fertilization. However, it is still an option for women under 36-37 years of age who do not have serious fertility problems.
As can be seen in the graph, the delivery rate from intrauterine insemination with donor sperm is higher than the delivery rate of IUI with partner sperm.
However, after the age of 40, both techniques have a similar, low success rate, mainly due to the low ovarian reserve and poor oocyte quality of the woman. These data have been extracted from the latest registry of the Spanish Fertility Society (SEF) corresponding to the year 2021.
