What factors cause teratozoospermia?

Teratozoospermia, that is, the alteration of sperm shape, can be caused by genetic alterations, an inadequate lifestyle, seminal alterations or by the presence of varicocele in the male. In addition, oncological treatments of chemotherapy and radiotherapy can also affect sperm morphology causing teratozoospermia.

In some cases, teratozoospermia is reversible when the factors involved disappear. However, in other situations reversion is not possible.
