Directed intercourse is not a commonly used reproductive technique. This option is indicated in very few situations, as it can only be performed in the case of mild infertility of unknown cause.
In addition, programmed intercourse has a low success rate and requires the quality of the male's sperm to be excellent. In relation to the woman, it is also essential that she has a good ovarian reserve and that her fallopian tubes are permeable so that the encounter between the egg and the sperm can take place.
