Among the different existing contraceptive methods, tubal ligation or bilateral tubal occlusion (BTO) is a definitive and very effective method. By means of a surgical intervention, both fallopian tubes are obstructed, so that the egg and the sperm cannot meet and pregnancy is prevented.
