One type of hysterosalpingography is virtual hysterosalpingography or V-HSG. This is a gynecological test that is based on the use of computed tomography or CT. Therefore, the images obtained with this type of hysterosalpingography are more detailed. In addition, virtual HSG allows the creation of three-dimensional and even endoscopic images.
This test also requires iodinated contrast to visualize the structures, but the risks associated with it are lower since it is not necessary to tract the cervix.
