Hysterosalpingosonography, also known by its acronym HSSG, is a modality of hysterosalpingography. The difference between these two techniques is that HSSG uses sound waves and introduces a saline solution into the vagina.
In contrast, hysterosalpingography uses X-rays and a contrast liquid.
