Vaginal atrophy can be treated with lubricants or moisturizers to relieve dryness and irritation. If this does not work, the next step would be to move on to hormonal treatments. The specialist may prescribe estrogen patches or even drugs with higher amounts of estrogen on a case-by-case basis.
Another therapeutic option for vaginal atrophy is the infiltration of hyaluronic acid. This treatment provides hydration to the vaginal area, reducing dryness and irritation of the area.
