Vitamin A, also called Retinol, is a fat-soluble vitamin that is not released in the urine. The levels of this vitamin must be regulated, since its alteration has a teratogenic effect.
Therefore, if a pregnant woman has high levels of vitamin A, it is possible that fetal alterations may occur, in addition to interruption of pregnancy. Babies may present alterations of the nervous system, the immune system, develop cardiac anomalies or skull deformities.
