The most common approach for women with placenta previa is to deliver by cesarean section to avoid severe bleeding that could endanger the health of both mother and baby.
However, if placenta previa has not caused other complications, labor can be planned either vaginally or by cesarean around the 37th week of pregnancy.
On the other hand, if placenta previa has caused heavy bleeding and the woman is at least 36 weeks pregnant, scheduling a cesarean section is the safest option.
