Normally, specialists recommend waiting at least 10-12 days from the time of the embryo transfer to perform a pregnancy test and obtain a reliable result. This period of time is known as two-week-wait with most patients being nervous and wondering if the fertility treatment will work.

However, thinking about the possible result of the pregnancy test should be avoided. It is advisable to try to keep up with the daily routine and be distracted during the two-week-wait.

In addition, it is also important to know that taking a pregnancy test before the indicative date could result in a false positive or false negative.
