Oocyte and Spermatozoa Preparation to the ICSI

Before doing ICSI, it is necessary to prepare the culture plate with the oocyte to be fertilized and a sample with the capacitated sperm.

First, the embryologist has to select the highest quality sperm and then immobilize it with a pipette to the tail. Once immobilized, it is aspirated with the microinjection pipette.

On the other hand, the ovum is held with the holding pipette and must also be properly oriented so that its polar body is at the top or bottom.
