The MACS technique, also known as adnexin V columns, is a technique that allows magnetic separation of spermatozoa with fragmented DNA (apoptotic) from healthy spermatozoa.
This is done thanks to adnexin V, a protein that is capable of detecting apoptotic spermatozoa.
