The anti-mullerian hormone or AMH hormone is synthesised by the ovarian follicles and its value does not vary depending on the time of the menstrual cycle. Therefore, the AMH test can be performed at any time.
However, AMH is often measured on the third or fifth day of the menstrual period because the blood test is used to measure other hormones such as FSH or oestradiol, which are important to measure at baseline.
