In vitro fertilization (IVF) is a highly complex assisted reproduction treatment that consists of creating embryos in the laboratory that will later be transferred to the woman's uterus.
This reproductive option is indicated in patients who are in some of the following situations:
- Low ovarian reserve.
- Obstruction of the fallopian tubes, since the encounter between the egg and the sperm would not occur naturally or by insemination.
- Presence of severe male factor.
- Failure in previous IUI cycles.
In any case, the choice of the reproductive technique should be made taking into account all the previous history of the patient and the results of the medical tests.
