The two main assisted reproductive techniques are artificial insemination (AI) and in vitro fertilization (IVF). The choice of one technique or the other will depend on the type of infertility present in the couple, the woman's age and the medical recommendation based on the probability of pregnancy for the particular case.
In general, IVF offers better results than AI, but it is a more expensive technique and causes greater emotional stress in patients.
