One possibility to calculate a woman's most fertile days is the home analysis of the consistency of the cervical mucus, as its appearance varies during the different phases of the menstrual cycle.
During ovulation and the days around ovulation, which is a woman's most fertile period, the cervical mucus is more elastic and watery than during the rest of the menstrual cycle. In addition, it is said that the mucus of the ovulatory period takes on the appearance of raw egg white.
