Pain in the pelvic or abdominal area is one of the main symptoms suffered by women with endometriosis. This pain usually occurs with menstruation, although it may also be chronic in the most severe cases.
In addition, the menses of women with endometriosis usually last several days, up to a week, and with heavier than normal bleeding.
Pain in the pelvis and abdomen may also occur during urination, defecation or sexual intercourse.
