Hysteroscopy is a type of endoscopic surgery that allows the diagnosis and treatment of certain pathologies related to the uterus. This procedure consists of introducing a hysteroscope through the vagina of the woman, who is lying in the gynecological position. Hysteroscopy does not require anesthesia, although it may be somewhat uncomfortable for the patient.
This test is usually recommended in cases of suspected fibroids, uterine adhesions, IUD removal or simply to evaluate the endometrial cavity. In addition, hysteroscopy is also recommended for implantation failure studies or fertility evaluation.
