Women with celiac disease may have symptoms related to their reproductive system such as amenorrhea, irregular menstrual cycles, severe menstrual pain, endometriosis, etc.
On the other hand, many of the women with sterility of unknown origin could be celiac and not be aware of it, since they would present the asymptomatic variety. As a consequence, they may have difficulty in achieving pregnancy, implantation failures in fertility treatments and repeated miscarriages.
