Fertility preservation consists of cryopreserving gametes, i.e. eggs and sperm at low temperatures for future use. During the entire time they are stored, the gametes do not lose quality.
Therefore, fertility preservation is especially indicated for oncology patients and for women who wish to delay childbearing for whatever reason.
