Oophoropexy or ovarian transposition consists of changing the position of the ovaries. This female fertility preservation technique is indicated in patients who are going to undergo radiotherapy treatments.
By repositioning the ovaries, the radiation will not damage them. Once the cancer treatment is completed, the ovaries can be repositioned.
