To preserve their fertility, females have to visit a fertility clinic and follow the steps as indicated by a fertility doctor:
- Self-administering hormonal injections to trigger the production of multiple eggs.
- Undergoing ovum pick-up (OPU) to collect the mature eggs from the ovaries.
- Once retrieved, the egg cells will be frozen by means of egg vitrification.
Thanks to the vitrification method, the ova are stored in liquid nitrogen at -196°C for an indefinite period of time until the woman decides to have children.
