Hi gals!
We’re about to start our first IUI cycle at reproductive partners fertility center. Would love to share experience with this clinic and fertility treatment. How did it go for you? How likely is it to get pregnant at the first IUI attempt???
06/01/2020 at 10:20 amGood morning Molly,
first of all, the pregnancy success rates of intrauterine insemination (also called artificial insemination) are cumulative. This means that, if you do not get pregnant on the first attempt, the chances of succeeding increase with the second attempt, and so on up until the 4th attempt.
When it comes to examining the results, one should learn the difference between Artificial Insemination by Husband (AIH) and Artificial Insemination by Donor (AID). The chances of succeeding with donor sperm are slightly higher due to increased sperm quality. For example, let’s evaluate the first IUI cycle. While at AIH the pregnancy rate lies between 15-23%, at AID the figures are somewhat higher and are situated between 17-28%.
Another aspect to bear in mind is that these rates are just approximate figures, and therefore they can vary from clinic to clinic, as well as depending on the particularities of each case, especially the age of the patient. For more information, I recommend you read our article: What Are the Success Rates of Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)?
Wish you best of luck for your first IUI cycle and that you soon hold a positive pregnancy test in your hands,
Best regards.

Hello Molly!
I just had my first IUI cycle at the reproductive partners and now hubby and I have to survive the two-week wait. We hope it ends in a positive test result!! The professionals and doctors are so great, we felt welcomed from the very beginning. Our doctor made sure to perform an in-depth diagnosis and suggested to try it at first with the more economical IUI since there are no severe fertility problems from both sides.
