Sadness, anger, despair, disappointment, guilt, etc. are the main feelings that arise in a woman when, after trying for a long time to achieve motherhood through fertility treatment such as in vitro fertilisation (IVF), she suffers a miscarriage.
Usually, these miscarriages are due to chromosomal alterations in the embryos. This is usually related to maternal age. In addition, other possible causes of miscarriages after IVF are infections, uterine problems, hormonal disturbances or immunological problems.
Lifestyle should not be forgotten, as smoking, alcohol or other drugs may increase the risk of miscarriage as well.
