Women who wish to become single mothers can use assisted reproductive technologies to do so. One of the reproductive options is artificial insemination (AI) using donor sperm.
In this case, it is necessary for the woman to have tubal patency. If the fallopian tubes are not patent, the egg and sperm will not meet and fertilisation will not occur. In addition, the woman must also have a good ovarian reserve, otherwise AI will not be effective.
