When a woman decides to become a single mother and does not meet the requirements to undergo artificial insemination (AI) or if she has already done so on several occasions without success, the next step would be to resort to in vitro fertilization (IVF).
In this case, as with artificial insemination, a donor sperm sample must be used for IVF. In addition, depending on the origin of the eggs, IVF with donor sperm and the patient's own eggs or IVF with double gamete donation can be performed.
