Ovaritis, oophoritis or inflammation of the ovaries can be caused by a variety of factors. Among them, infections, sexually transmitted diseases and cancer are some of the most common causes of ovarian inflammation.
However, they are not the only ones, as problems derived from the postpartum period, allergies to certain medications or abortion can also be the cause of ovaritis.
