When the semen analysis of the male offers moderate or severe results of male infertility, it is necessary to resort to in vitro fertilization (IVF) to achieve a pregnancy. These diagnoses include the following:
- Oligozoospermia
- low concentration of sperm in the ejaculate, according to the World Health Organization, when the sperm count is less than 15 million there may be problems in achieving a natural pregnancy.
- Asthenospermia
- poor sperm motility, so it will be more complicated for the encounter between the egg and the sperm to take place.
- Teratozoospermia
- refers to spermatozoa with abnormal morphology
- Cryptozoospermia
- is an alternative to oligozoospermia, where the quantity of sperm in the ejaculate is less than 100,000.
