One of the possible causes of male infertility of genetic origin may be fragmentation in the DNA of the spermatozoa. If this happens, it would result in fertilization failure, implantation failure and repeated miscarriages.
Generally, the cause of sperm DNA fragmentation is usually a failure in the sperm formation and maturation process. In addition to sperm fragmentation, it is also possible that genetic failures in this process of spermatogenesis may also result in diploid, nullisomic or structurally altered spermatozoa.
