Treatment of oligoasthenoteratozoospermia (OAT)

Determining the most adequate treatment for OAT is complicated because in most cases it is due to idiopathic causes (the etiology is unknown).

Oligoasthenoteratospermia can be overcome with surgery if the cause is a testicular disease like varicocele. When the cause is unknown, vitamin and antioxidant supplements can boost the man's fertility. However, if pregnancy is not achieved in spite of these remedies, it would be necessary to turn to In Vitro Fertilization with ICSI.
