Egg donation is an assisted reproduction technique that more and more women are undergoing, because the delay in motherhood generates poor oocyte and embryo quality. With this technique, many women who cannot get pregnant with their own gametes, achieve gestation.
However, the risks associated with pregnancy are independent of the origin of the eggs. Usually, when IVF with donor eggs is used, there is advanced maternal age, which leads to greater dangers during gestation. Some of them are gestational diabetes, hypertension, premature delivery and low birth weight.
