Ovarian tissue freezing

This is an experimental technique for preserving fertility in women who suffer from cancer and consists of removing an ovary or part of it by cutting the ovarian cortex.

It is then frozen and can be transplanted back into the woman once the oncological treatment has been completed. The tissue is reactivated again and is capable of producing eggs.
