There are some factors at the immunological level that could be reasons for recurrent miscarriages. Specifically, the immunological causes of recurrent miscarriages are divided into two groups.
On the one hand, there are autoimmune factors such as, for example, thrombophilias. This condition consists of a situation of hypercoagulation of the blood, which leads to the formation of blood clots and consequently to pregnancy loss.
On the other hand, there are alloimmune factors such as the presence of Natural Killer cells or NK cells. Their presence can cause the woman's body to detect the foetus as something foreign and an attack occurs.
