Step by step to sperm freezing

The sperm freezing process is usually done by slow freezing. It is a simple procedure that consists of:

  • Add cryoprotectants to the semen, so that the viability of the sperm is not compromised.
  • Introduce the seminal sample in straws or cryotubes and gradually lower the temperature.
  • Store semen samples in liquid nitrogen until they are to be used for assisted reproduction treatment.

If the seminal samples are considered valuable, they can also be frozen in the form of beads. This will allow optimization of the semen, since it allows the sample to gradually thaw.
