Epididymitis is inflammation of the epididymis, the narrow tube that connects to both testicles. Inflammation of the epididymis is usually caused by a sexually transmitted infection such as gonorrhoea, bacterial infections and the administration of drugs such as amiodarone. However, these are not the only reasons for epididymitis.
In any case, epididymitis can lead to difficulty in the outflow of sperm, as treatment of the inflammation often results in obstruction of the epididymis. As a result, men treated for epididymitis may develop azoospermia and, therefore, pregnancy will not be possible in a natural way.
