In the ovarian stimulation phase of an assisted reproduction treatment, the patient will visit the clinic several times to check the growth of the follicles.
When most of them reach a size of 16-18 mm, the specialist will schedule artificial insemination (AI) or follicular puncture in the case of in vitro fertilization (IVF). Prior to these procedures, the patient must be administered the hCG hormone to induce ovulation and recover each of the oocytes developed.
