Time-lapse technology is based on generating video from photographs taken at different times and focal planes. Thanks to this system, it is possible to evaluate embryo development without having to remove them from the incubator and disturb their culture conditions.
Incubators equipped with time-lapse technology are highly useful in in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments, as they allow for better embryo selection. Moreover, there are various types of time-lapse incubators, although the most common ones are Geri, Embryoscope, and Eeva.
