Potential causes of unexplained infertility

Some potential causes of unknown or unexplained infertility are genetic abnormalities in oocytes or spermatozoa, poor embryo quality, or endometrial abnormalities that prevent embryo implantation.

These potential causes cannot be detected using standard diagnostic tests and procedures. For this reason, many couples are simply diagnosed with unexplained infertility at the beginning, but later the cause is identified, after going through more complex tests and additional exams.
