Description
Victoria Rey Clinic is a private gynecology, obstetrics, and assisted reproduction clinic located in the Nervión district of Seville, very close to the historic center. If you need information on how to get to the clinic, whether by public or private transport, you can access this link.
The clinic has a long history in Assisted Reproduction, offering comprehensive fertility care and directed by Dr. Victoria Eugenia Rey Caballero since its founding in 2006.
The Victoria Rey team is made up of highly qualified professionals in assisted reproduction, with extensive training and experience in the most advanced fertility techniques and high pregnancy success rates. They not only use innovative techniques but also develop them — such as the VREY method for treating fibroids with radiofrequency without surgery.
Victoria Rey Clinic has spacious facilities and the most cutting-edge technology in assisted reproduction, including its own operating room and laboratory, as well as staff prepared to assist international patients.
What treatments do they offer?
The assisted reproduction treatments carried out at Victoria Rey are listed in the following table.
In addition, Victoria Rey Clinic offers a safe pregnancy program known as FertilityCare for complex cases. Victoria Rey Clinic also performs ovarian rejuvenation (OVARIANCARE), fertility surgery, and has a unit specializing in immunology and implantation failures.
Each of these fertility treatments mentioned above has a different cost due to their varying complexity.
The treatment costs may vary significantly depending on the tests or techniques included or not, such as the seminogram, medication, fertility testing, medical visits, prolonged culture or embryo vitrification.
This Tool helps you to find out the exact costs of the different fertility clinics (what's included and what's not) and provides you with lots of useful tips for your first appointment.
If you are not yet sure which assisted reproduction treatment is the most suitable for you and want more information, you can read about each one in the following article: Assisted reproduction techniques.

- Psychology.
- Urology.
- Genetics through an external collaboration agreement.

- Immunologist.
- Medical committee for high-complexity cases.
Finally, women who become pregnant can also have all their pregnancy monitoring carried out at Victoria Rey Clinic, as well as childbirth assistance. However, all these services are not included in the cost of the treatment and involve an additional fee for patients who wish to use them.
Facilities
Victoria Rey Clinic is located in the Nervión area, a central district of Seville. All its facilities are modern, built in 2020, and are spread across a single floor covering an area of 670 m2.
Below, all areas of the clinic are detailed, along with the resources and technology available to carry out fertility treatments.
Building and Surroundings
The entrance to Victoria Rey Clinic is located at Calle Luis Montoro N/81. This entrance, like the corridors, is wide to facilitate access for people with reduced mobility.
Regarding the clinic’s surroundings, it is a highly accessible and central area. Additionally, there are various shops nearby.
Victoria Rey Clinic is situated in a busy neighborhood, and parking can be challenging for those arriving by private vehicle. To check the parking areas, access this link.
Reception and Waiting Room
The main reception of Victoria Rey Clinic is located at the entrance on Calle Luis Montoto.
The clinic has a more intimate and private reception and waiting area for assisted reproduction patients. This area features comfortable furniture and sufficient privacy so that patients feel at ease.
Reception staff at Victoria Rey Clinic speak several languages (Spanish, Italian, and English) to accommodate the needs of each patient.
Next to the entrance waiting room is the boardroom, used for private meetings of the clinic team or with other professionals.
The average waiting time for appointments is around 15 minutes, but these rooms are equipped with Wi-Fi, television, and music to make the wait more pleasant. Additionally, patients have access to refreshments such as water, tea, coffee, and juices.
Consultation Rooms
Victoria Rey Clinic has a total of six medical consultation rooms, each with its own examination area, fully equipped with comfortable examination chairs, adequate lighting, and high-generation ultrasound machines.
Six gynecologists specializing in assisted reproduction work at Victoria Rey Clinic and provide services in English, Italian, and Spanish. Additionally, all of them are on call on weekends and holidays for procedures such as ovarian punctures or embryo transfers.
Operating Room
The surgical area at Clínica Victoria Rey covers 100 m2 with a direct connection between the operating room and the laboratory. This operating room is equipped with everything necessary to carry out any fertility treatment procedure, as well as major outpatient surgery. Some procedures that can be performed here include hysteroscopies, fibroid treatments using radiofrequency, testicular biopsies, etc.
Available resources include an operating table, instrument tables, advanced endoscopy tower, patient monitoring systems both in the operating room and recovery rooms, anesthesia tower, high-generation ultrasound machine, defibrillator, emergency cart, and air purity, temperature, and pressure control systems. Patients can continuously monitor the transfer of their embryo through screens installed in the operating room.
This area is equipped to maintain sterility and prevent external contamination, including protocols for entry and exit of personnel, airtight doors, rounded floor corners and skirting, appropriate air filters and maintenance, and systems for controlling air purity, temperature, and pressure.
Laboratories
Victoria Rey Clinic has three laboratories on its premises: Andrology, In Vitro Fertilization/Embryology, and Cryopreservation. Together, they occupy 60 m2 and were designed and built in 2020, making them modern facilities. These three laboratories are separate but connected through airtight doors.
Two embryologists and one laboratory technician work here. Beatriz Valenzuela is in charge of the embryology laboratory, and Fátima González oversees the andrology laboratory. The Assisted Reproduction laboratories operate every day of the year, including weekends and holidays, except for two 7-day shutdowns annually for cleaning, recalibration, and maintenance of equipment.
Administrative tasks, as well as staff changing rooms, are located at the entrance to the surgical area, outside the laboratory. Additionally, the sterilization area includes an autoclave.
Below, we detail the three laboratories at Victoria Rey Clinic:
Andrology laboratory
This is a small room where semen analyses, sperm preparation, sperm selection, and other related tests are performed.
The lab is equipped with the following:
- 1 Laminar flow hood.
- 1 Phase contrast microscope.
- 1 Incubator.
- 1 Centrifuge.
Therefore, it has all the necessary equipment for semen procedures.
For sperm freezing, Victoria Rey uses the straw freezing method. In addition, the lab is adapted for handling infectious samples and has independent nitrogen tanks for storage.
IVF laboratory
Access to the IVF laboratory at Victoria Rey is restricted to authorized personnel only. The doors are interlocked and airtight.
As in the operating room, the corners and skirting boards are rounded, and the walls are coated with special material to prevent dirt accumulation and facilitate cleaning. This lab also has a positive pressure ventilation system and HEPA filters. The furniture is stainless steel.
The following materials and equipment are available in the Victoria Rey clinic laboratory to perform all assisted reproduction techniques:
- 2 Laminar flow hoods.
- 1 Heated workstation.
- 2 Heating blocks.
- 1 Nikon inverted microscope.
- 3 Binocular magnifiers.
- 2 Narishige microinjectors.
- 4 Automatic pipettes.
- 2 Incubators (Labotect and MINC).
The sample traceability system for monitoring, identification, and tracking is carried out using the witness system at Victoria Rey.
Oocyte and embryo freezing is done through vitrification using the Cryotop method, and embryo biopsy and genetic analysis are performed using a laser (not owned by the clinic).
Cryopreservation laboratory
This laboratory is right next to the IVF laboratory, but in separate spaces divided by doors, as we have already mentioned. This is where eggs and embryos are frozen for cryopreservation using the vitrification technique, and also where they are thawed when IVF with frozen eggs or frozen embryo transfer is required. The sample banks and nitrogen tanks are located in this area.
The same staff as in the IVF and andrology labs work here, as all are trained in gamete and embryo vitrification.
Recovery Rooms
Victoria Rey Clinic has four individual recovery rooms. Each room features a private bathroom, background music, and equipment for continuous monitoring of vital signs, as well as connections for medical gas and oxygen.
These rooms are located in the sterile area next to the operating room. The furniture in each room includes a bed, a small table, a coat rack, and a chair for a companion.
After each procedure, Victoria Rey Clinic offers all patients juice and some pastries to aid in recovery following interventions such as follicular punctures.
Semen Sample Collection Room
Victoria Rey Clinic has two rooms dedicated to semen sample collection, located in the central corridor of the clinic, directly opposite the Operating Room and Andrology Area, in a quiet and private space.
The available resources include a chair, 2 comfortable seats, a small table, a sink, and a television with a video catalog and USB connection.
What to Expect at the First Visit
The first medical assessment at Victoria Rey Clinic is free of charge. The total duration of the visit is approximately 45 minutes with the specialist gynecologist in Assisted Reproduction.
After the consultation, the Nursing, Embryology, and Patient Care Departments assist patients with financial information and any other questions.
For this first visit, patients are advised to bring their complete medical history, previous tests, analyses, etc., all of which will be evaluated by the specialist physician.
Additionally, Victoria Rey offers a first visit via videocall. This is especially useful for international patients, as it avoids an initial trip. It is important to note that the clinic has staff who speak English, French, and Italian.
Gamete Donors
Anyone wishing to become a sperm or egg donor can visit Victoria Rey Clinic to undergo all necessary medical, psychological, and analytical tests. If deemed suitable, they can proceed with the donation.
The center has specific areas for donors, with waiting rooms separate from patients. Additionally, access and exit doors for donors are different to prevent any contact.
Victoria Rey Clinic also separates donor and recipient consultations in both space and time, ensuring confidentiality and anonymity at all times. Donors never come into contact with patients.
Regarding the assignment of an egg donor to a recipient, Victoria Rey Clinic bases it on precise phenotypic characteristics, blood type, and a genetic compatibility study.
However, in accordance with the requirements established by Law 14/2006 on Assisted Human Reproduction Techniques, patients cannot choose the physical traits of donors nor know their identity.
Finally, Victoria Rey Clinic has its own gamete bank (eggs and sperm), meaning they do not purchase eggs from external banks, and also maintains its own embryo bank for embryo adoption.
