Endometrial curettage can be done by an endometrial biopsy, in which a catheter is inserted through the cervix to scrape the uterine walls, or during the course of a hysteroscopy.
Hysteroscopy is a diagnostic technique used to see the inside of the uterine cavity more clearly and, if necessary, to operate on the woman to remove any polyps, septum, etc.
